If so ...I suspect you know how to forgive yourself. If so you are lucky. We are dealing with a major crisis with Cate and her brain processing. Scary stuff that has me nearly undone. Anyway, she has never seen any screen time. Despite all my best intentions of no tv we still have issues. I'm feeling like an utter failure as a parent.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7788937665884473331.post-27433429507348130612009-09-01T19:20:10.645-07:002009-09-01T19:20:10.645-07:00I absolutely appreciate a realistic take on screen...I absolutely appreciate a realistic take on screen time. We've all had our times when we're not perfect, and it's much more important to stay sane and calm for our kids than to stick closely to being unplugged - like your wakeful nights with H.

But your suggestions are good, especially the paradoxical advice to spend more time with the kids up front to get a break later. Another tool in my box - that works better with toddlers on up - is to ask the kids to put on a show for me, or sing for me, or whatever. I can lay on the couch and be entertained, but no one's watching tv!MamaGames - Alexa C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08283551441162201718noreply@blogger.com
